About Us

Smorgasbord is produced by Dreamweaver (Whitney McMeekin) and Shmendrik (Aaron Setton) in Hamilton, Ontario. 

Whitney McMeekin is community builder known for creating city-wide events that attract a diverse range of people-from families, to creatives, to those seeking thoughtful and unique experiences. Through her various projects Whitney has partnered with many businesses & organizations including the City of Hamilton, Art Gallery of Hamilton & the Arkells. Equal parts dreamer and doer- Whitney is known for her creative, unique, playful, and thoughtful approach to community and has established her own brand of happenings here in the city of Hamilton.

Whitney is best known for running the shop Girl on the Wing, being the founder of the Pop Up series Hamilton Flea, and for her various collaborative work with some of Hamilton’s finest. Recently, Whitney established her events-focused work under the name dreamweaver and has put extra focus on helping a range of clients create their dream events and projects.

Aaron Setton has spent the past decade immersed in the events and hospitality industry, with a particular focus on craft beer and community-driven experiences in Hamilton. Best known for his role as Director of Hospitality at Collective Arts in both Hamilton and Toronto, Aaron curated vibrant, creative programming fuelled by exceptional food and drink. Over the years, he has produced hundreds of live music events, including a two-day music festival (A Creative Trip), as well as live wrestling and boxing events, line dancing events, movie nights, beer dinners & tastings and countless late-night dance parties.

Now working as an independent event organizer, Aaron continues to bring bold, imaginative experiences to life. He’s deeply passionate about his hometown of Hamilton and remains committed to creating inspirational, community-centred events for his fellow Hamiltonians.
